Hey everyone and happy Friday the thirteenth! I am not superstitious, but I do remember that one time…we went to buy donuts for breakfast and she had issues paying, then ended up dropping something (maybe the donuts!), and then something happened with the car… But normal days make for boring memories, right?
Haven’t you always wanted to know what is making other people’s life better? It is one of my favorites, so I thought I would start a new series.
First, have you heard of the pink tax? It’s one of those popular buzz phrases right now. Basically, it means that companies charge women more for the same item as the men’s except they might have made it PINK. The most common example of this is razors. I don’t feel victimized because I bought “men’s” razors from the Dollar Shave Club for years. BUT a few months ago I found out about Billie (please note that is a referral link–I will get a bit back if you sign up under my referral code)–a women’s razor subscription service!
You always wonder if the next best thing is really the best, but you know what? It was the SAME price as the Dollar Shave Club, so I figured I had nothing to lose. In fact, they are so much better than my other razor’s: they have aloe lotion around the blades, so I can shave without any additional creams if I want; they come in several different colors, which I really love; they came with a MAGNETIC holder for your shower which really WORKS; and it is easy to schedule shipments on YOUR schedule. Best change ever, I think!
Condiments are tough on a low sugar diet like I’ve done for almost 3 months now. The biggest adjustment in the midst of cook-out weather has been ketchup. Those condiments can get you every single time! I discovered Primal Kitchen Chipotle Mayo pretty quickly. It is one of the only mayos I’ve seen that doesn’t have any sugar added whatsoever. And with the spicy chipotle flavor you don’t miss the sugar! I’m so thankful because even though I’ve done away with most sugar I still love my dips!
And finally, trying to bump up my gut health has led me to eat soup almost everyday. I found a really cool soup container that I bought to bring soup to work! It is essentially two containers in one–it cuts down on clutter and fits easily into my lunch box. I actually feel special having my own special container for my lunches–probably the geek in me coming out!
So how about you? Do you have something that is making your life oh-so-much easier?
